Joanie Cavanaugh is a children’s book author and illustrator. Her publishers include Harcourt, Scholastic, Grolier Children’s Press, Scott Foresman Addison Wesley, and Macmillan McGraw-Hill. Joanie writes and illustrates magazines, board books, picture books, easy readers, chapter books, anthologies and poetry collections. Her happy reviewers include Booklist, School Library Journal, Parents Magazine, and Kirkus Reviews.
Joanie graduated with a Bachelor’s and a Master's Degree in Fine Art from Boston University and was awarded a Stoeckel Fellowship to Yale University.
In addition to children’s publishing, Joanie is also the Director of Marketing and Communications for a not-for-profit community hospital. She lives in Northern California where she loves to hike, bike and run.
